Krista Kochosky, Chair of the Real Estate Practice Group will join an experienced panel to present the Pennsylvania Bar Institute<\/a> course, Real Estate Agent and Broker Liability<\/em>. The program is approved for 3 hours of CLE credit (2.0 Substantive and 1.0 Ethics) and will be held in Mechanicsburg on June 6th and in Pittsburgh on June 15th.<\/p>\n

Course Overview<\/h2>\n

Effectively reduce liability for your clients<\/h3>\n

The course will focus on the potential liability for both residential and commercial real estate agents. Instructors will examine the current state of the law with respect to Realtor\u00ae liability and how to effectively reduce your clients\u2019 exposure to liability.<\/p>\n

What to do when you\u2019re not sure?<\/h3>\n

Part of the program will center on ethics, including topics such as conflicts of interest, competence, and disclosure requirements arising under the Real Estate Seller Disclosure Law and common law. We will look at ethical considerations under the National Association of Realtors\u2019\u00ae\u2019 Code of Ethics.<\/p>\n

Step-by-step advice on how to avoid mistakes<\/h3>\n

The presentation will cover various theories of broker and agent liability, including agency theories, public policy concerns and fraud theories. We will explore common concerns such as liability for mistakes made by inspectors, the level of culpability required to impose liability upon real estate agents, and the extent of the duty owed to prospective purchasers.<\/p>\n

Ethics information has been integrated throughout this program. To receive ethics credit, you must attend the entire course.<\/p>\n
